Get to Know Tracy Bishara
After gaining a BHSc (Midwifery), I began working as an independent midwife. I work within the Kate Sheppard Midwifery practice based in Albany. I love being in partnership with women and their families during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. I provide informed choice and consent which enables women to be responsible and in control of their childbirth experience. I enjoy working with the team at Kate Sheppard Midwifery and work closely with my partner Louise Lilley and together we provide continuity of care as Lead Maternity Carers.
- Location: North Shore & Hibiscus Coast, Auckland
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Health Science (Midwifery)
- Philosophy: As a midwife, I believe that I can provide informed, balanced information that can empower women and instill a sense of belief within themselves throughout their pregnancy until the post natal period. Working in partnership, being an advocate and providing support is my role as a midwife. Educating women is also an important part of my role as I would like to reduce any fear that may be associated with childbirth and therefore assist women to have the most positive experience possible. I feel honoured and privileged to call myself a midwife.
- On a Personal Note: I am married with two beautiful daughters and thanks to my very supportive husband I am able to live my dream of being a midwife. In my spare time I enjoy boating, watching movies, reading, relaxing with family and friends and having fun with our most recent addition to the family, Casper, a Bichon Frise.
